Aug 23-29 Weekly Review

This Week on Stephenson County Scanner
It was a busy week across Stephenson County, with everything from serious crashes and medical emergencies to some unusual calls.
One of the biggest incidents was a four-vehicle crash involving semis at Route 26 and Winneshiek Road. One person required extrication, two patients were transported, and a medical helicopter was requested.
Other notable calls included a small child struck by a vehicle on S High Avenue, a full cardiac arrest on Salem Road with CPR in progress, a child choking on a grape, and two possible overdose calls.
Deputies also responded to multiple reckless drivers, a naked man walking near Lancaster and Van Buren roads, and cattle in the roadway on Forest Road.
Fire crews were called for several alarms, a possible gas leak, a carbon monoxide detector, a tree that fell onto a garage, and a commercial building that lost power after a loud bang.
These are just some of the calls we monitored this week and do not represent every emergency response in Stephenson County.
