A second young man has died from injuries suffered in the September 7 crash on W. Loran Road near S. Lott Road.

Kade R. Knoup, 25, of Pearl City, has died after being hospitalized with life-threatening injuries following the early Sunday morning crash. Knoup had been transported from the scene by medical helicopter.

Knoup was one of three people inside the Ford sedan that investigators say struck multiple cattle before leaving the roadway. The driver, Tyson C. Clark, 22, of Pearl City, died while being transported to a medical facility. Travis L. Kaney, 25, of Freeport, was hospitalized with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The loss of two young men from the same crash is devastating for their families, friends and the Pearl City community. Our thoughts are with everyone mourning Kade and Tyson, as well as Travis as he continues to recover.

The crash remains under investigation by the Stephenson County Sheriff’s Office.
